In Sanskrit svasukha means:  "dwelling in the
happiness from within one's own being"

We strive to be happy in life.  With practice we
can take this feeling with us from the mat into our
daily lives.

The Sanskrit word
sva refers to one's 'self';
sukha is the quiet contentment or joy that we
aspire to find in life.

Studying dance from a young age at the competitive level in Kitchener -
Waterloo, at 18 I was introduced to yoga.  After 10 years of yoga practice I
completed my Ashtanga yoga teacher training in 2001 with Ron Reid,
continuing my yoga studies in Prenatal yoga with Sasha Padron in 2006 and
Postnatal yoga with Michelle Cormack in 2007.
I completed Yoga on the Ball training through Can-Fit-Pro Summer 2008.

Graduating from the University of Guelph in English and Philosophy, I continued
my graduate studies at the University of Windsor in Education.  At the same
time, I completed the Holistic Health Practitioner program at The
Transformational Arts College in Toronto, gaining certification as a Natural
Health Practitioner, Aromatherapist and Reiki Master.

Currently I balance my professional career teaching elementary school and
instructing yoga and reiki classes.  My greatest achievement is seeing the
strength and confidence people discover from my classes.

My wish for you is that you may seek happiness from within.
